Understand New York attorney registration evidence

Use official registration information as one identity and currentness signal—not as proof of specialty, availability, good standing, discipline history, or representation.

What the official record can show

The New York attorney-registration dataset can identify a registration number, reported business information, admission year, department, law school, observed registration status, and next registration date. Disability Law Aid uses only privacy-minimized evidence and does not publish OCA residential street addresses.

What it cannot prove

A registration row does not establish disability-law specialty, experience, availability, good standing, absence of discipline, claim authority, membership, endorsement, or representation. Those states remain separate and require their own evidence.

Before a high-trust action

  • Recheck the individual through the official New York Attorney Search.
  • Confirm the profile belongs to the same person using business and first-party evidence.
  • Confirm current disability-related relevance from a separate specialty source.
  • Keep claim, outreach, featured placement, opportunity eligibility, and reinstatement closed until required receipts are complete.

Registration wording changes over time. Check the official source directly before relying. Disability Law Aid does not make a good-standing or no-discipline claim.
