How listing corrections and suppression work
Prepare a source-based correction, duplicate report, suppression request, or reinstatement review without assuming that anything has been submitted or accepted.
Correction and duplicate review
Identify the exact listing, the fact that may be wrong, and a current public source. A duplicate report should name the retained canonical page and the page that should redirect. Until review is accepted, the current published record remains the public record.
Suppression and safe reinstatement
A suppression hold blocks publication and high-trust use until an authorized review resolves it. Older imports, backups, or lower-sequence events cannot silently restore a suppressed listing. Reinstatement requires a newer accepted receipt and fresh supporting evidence.
Receipt states
- Prepared: a browser-local request or internal review item exists; nothing has been sent.
- Evidence needed: the requested change lacks sufficient current source support.
- Accepted: the reviewed correction, merge, suppression, or reinstatement may update the next authorized publication.
- Held: the affected listing and high-trust actions stay closed while identity, authority, source, safety, or conflict evidence is unresolved.
- Stale restoration blocked: an older event cannot override a newer accepted suppression or correction.
